The Clean Water, Clean Shores (CWCS) project is a collaborative effort of organizations committed to keeping the Maine coastline pristine as part of their overall mission. The group organizes shoreline cleanups annually in the greater Mount Desert Island region. Starting in 2010, these cleanups have involved hundreds of volunteers and removed thousands of pounds of marine debris. These efforts are made possible through the cooperative participation of numerous partners.
The 2022 cleanup will be held on September 10th, launching from Pigeon Hill Boat Ramp and focusing on Bois Bubert island. Read more about the cleanup and how to sign up below!
